My littles

They are just growing up way too fast. Calon has his 9 month appointment. He gained like half an ounce so the doctor isn't worried *yet* but we will keep an eye on him. I gather it is because he hasn't started on solids yet. He just recently started to become interested and it's not like he DOESN'T wake up for a million feedings at night. No but really...some nights it is only once and some nights he will sleep the 10 hours.

These kids make me step outside my comfort zone. They like...ENJOY...talking to complete strangers. I don't get it. I've said this on Facebook...every outing is like a day in my public speaking class from college. If you know me, I've also said this before...everyday of my public speaking class was the worst day of my life. That's not to say I'm not good at speaking in front of people or a PERSON; I just don't prefer it.

We got family portraits taken again this year. I'm excited that I was huge pregnant for them. I might have avoided my double chin. Win for me.

I find Myles attached to the stove ANYTIME I'm cooking. That's always fun to have a 20 month old hovering over you like a hawk just so he can stir the pot.

Calon has ^ this look a lot. A LOT. This is face at resting. No joke. You thought Myles had big eyes...he doesn't look nearly as surprised as Calon looks all the time.

Here's to the upcoming holiday season. Looking forward to hanging with my littles  a whole lot more and of course the hubby. :) Cheers!

Calon's 6 monther

They grow up...WAY too fast. This little big boy is 27 inches long, 17.5 lbs with a decently huge noggin' at 44cm. He has a smile that lights up a room. He is so loved by all of his brothers. I half expected some jealousy but they are so into hanging out with him and loving on him. We learned yesterday that he's apparently double or tripled jointed in his arms.

Freaked the nurse out a little...ha!

He's such a fun little dude and an awesome addition to this family!!

Time flies

The past 4 months have flown by. Today was Calon's 4/5 month appointment. He is 16.4 pounds and 23 inches long. The nurse measured his head circumference twice because the measurement seemed big...which...the kid's head is large like all of his brothers. Myles had his 18 month checkup at the same time and he also has a 90-some-odd percentile size head.

There has been a lot that has happened so I'm just going to make a list. It is in no particular order:

1. Ryan graduated...finally. I think I might have been more excited than he was.

2. We flew to California for his ceremony...with all the kids. Never again.

3. I'm in love with doTerra oils.

4. Work has been crazy (that's not new).

5. My sister is pregnant and due in January! Hooray for Jnuary babies!

6. My second born turned 3!!! So sad. Izyk is getting so big and growing into a caring, sweet, fun loving little guy.

7. Calon is rolling from front to back. He's teething like a mad man.

8. Myles climbs EVERYTHING. This kid is no joke. He climbs baby gates, dog crates, play kitchens, cabinets, and other vertical objects with ease. The way he climbs is so calculated. He's a little ninja.

9. Finally got to meet all my nieces and nephews!! FINALLY!! The boys had so much fun. I totally miss the mountains.

10. I have a million pictures and videos but if I wait to post with pictures...this post will cease to be. Definitely next time.

Calon Pryce Nichols

We welcomed Calon Pryce on 3/1/13 at 8:28am, Friday morning. He weighed a whopping 7lbs 7oz and was 20 inches long with an amazing set of lungs and a decent head of hair. I made it through the c-section without having to be put under general anesthesia!! Woot woot! We had arranged to get the same anesthesiologist as last time because he knew my history. Now that I know what the c-section should've felt like...I KNOW that I HAD been feeling it and I'm not entirely nutzo. Fantastic. I got to hear my baby's first shriek of life and it was amazing.

But let's start the "birth" story at 5am because that is the ridiculous time I had to be at the hospital...again. Same procedure as last time, got admitted and hooked up to a MILLION and a half machines and tubes, lifelines and such. The nurse inserted my IV in the crook of my arm and every time I MOVED my arm, the little IV alarm would sound!! How CONVENIENT! Especially since that is something that stays in for TWO WHOLE DAYS. I just have to be careful about not moving my arm. At all.

I had to wait an hour because there was an emergency section ahead of me. The spinal tap hurt like a mofo. The anesthesiologist made sure I was numb and walked me through the entire c-section so I knew what and when they were doing stuff. I have a feeling everyone thought I was hyper-sensitive or post-traumatic stress syndrome from the last two times. Regardless, my left side was hard to numb...he kept hitting a nerve and I wanted to punch him every time he hit it. I was almost to the point of telling him to just knock me out. He seriously gave me a detailed play-by-play. At one point, when they were pressing down on my chest, a nurse got all up in my face and was telling me to breathe. I had, what felt like, a 200lb person on my chest and they want me to breathe??? I swear I was telling her that I was breathing but whatever. I don't really remember much after that. I was just glad I made it through the entire section awake.

This kid is a screamer.

OH

MY

GOODNESS

He would cry from the nursery and you could hear him in my room.

He can wake the dead...I kid you not.

He lost 10 ounces in the hospital...before my milk came in. He had a doctor appointment 5 days after birth and he had pretty much gained it all back...in 3 days...ah-hem...my milk rules. My little fatty. I hope he continues this growth pattern. I got clogged ducts the SECOND my milk came...go figure. I sort of expected it because this happens EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It's ridiculous. I just try to keep mastitis at bay. It's been close a couple of times but we will get there. During an 8 hour period, he wakes once (so basically he goes about 4 hours before waking on his own). I'm not pressing for him to sleep through the night because the last time (with Myles) I ended up pregnant extremely soon after that and I'd like to get my body back without becoming impregnated for the last time. Yes, you heard me...one more. BUT...the gap will hopefully be larger than 13 months. All of his brothers want to hold him. I'm glad they are interested.

So there you have it. My mom has been in town sice February 25th and is staying a month. She has been a huge help with everything. I'm trying not to think that she leaves in less than two weeks. It makes me sad.

An attempt to catch up...most likely failed...

So at my last post, I was 30.5 weeks and now here I am at 39 weeks with my c-section scheduled for this Friday. Terrible, I know. But...like I do with everything else, I'll blame the pregnancy. My mom got into town this past Saturday and OMG, she's a lifesaver. She really has no idea how much she has done just in the past few days. My house has never been this clean for this many days in a row.

It's crazy.

You can see my carpet.

Work is psychotic. With leaving in a day or so, I feel like I have so much to pass on. I've been so tired lately and I know it's just because I'm sssssoooo prego. I haven't gained as much weight this time around but you won't hear me complaining! I feel like a 500lb person but know that I am not. I've been dilated and effaced since my appointment on the 7th of February. Regardless, c-section is scheduled for Friday at the same ridiculous hour as last year...we have to be there at 5am...gah. Hopefully, I won't have to be knocked out like the last two times. I'd like to see my baby...like soon after birth not like 2 hours later.

*sigh*

Depressing.

I've been really bad about taking pictures of my pregoness so I sort of missed an entire two months but Ryan reminded me tonight...so 39 weeks and the last picture before the little dude is evicted. So stinking excited.

BIG NEWS...Ryan has finished his bachelors degree in business marketing!!! Yay!!! He's forever done and I assure you, he MIGHT be more excited than me...MIGHT. It's close between me and him who is more excited. He walks in June and we will be flying out to California for the ceremony. It only took like 15 years to get to this point. It's about time.

The kiddos are psychotic as usual. Myles is climbing anything and everything. Crazy little guy. He's so vocal. Izyk is completely potty trained...day AND night. I'm so proud of him. He definitely proved me wrong. I thought we wouldn't have him potty trained until after he turned three but I suppose that is a benefit of having an older brother to watch and follow around. Charley loves playing with Myles. They get along so well. Izyk is a little stand offish...I think just because he's not sure how rough or what he can do because Myles is smaller than him. I love watching these three interact. Cutest thing ever. They learn so much from each other as well.

Charley turned FOUR on January 20th. I can't believe the little man he is turning out to be. He looks out for Izyk and Myles. He plays rough with them both. He loves trains and doing mazes. He loves to help cook and sometimes helps clean up. :) Charley and Dad went to a Monster Truck race in Decatur for his birthday and he LOVED it. Talked about it for days. Happy Birthday Charley-man!! YOU are growing up WAY TOO FAST.

Little Myles turned ONE on February 1st as well (this is how behind I am)! He is a running, climbing machine. He can get over just about anything he wants. Every time he goes to stand, he starts running...faceplants...then finishes his journey crawling. Lately, he's been walking EVERYWHERE...including downstairs. I was hoping to teach him to go down on his bum or backwards but he prefers to walk down them. No thank you. Gives Mama a heart attack. Little tank. He LOVES food and will eat just about anything you put in front of him. He loves playing with his brothers. Continues to sleep like a champ. Happy first birthday little stinker!! Another one growing up way too fast. :(
